In total, from 1960 to the end of the 90s, about 40 cosmonauts and space flight candidates underwent pre-flight training in Armenia.<\/span><\/p>\n

1969 Cosmonaut Konstantin Feoktistov<\/a><\/span>, with Prof. and Mrs Gurzadyan, Yerevan. <\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Dr Feoktistov was among the first cosmonauts with Yuri Gagarin<\/a><\/span>, he flew in 1964 on Voskhod 1<\/a><\/span>, the first spacecraft to carry three crew members, also he was one of the designers of the first Sputnik<\/a><\/span>, spacecrafts Vostok<\/a><\/span>, Voskhod<\/a><\/span>, Soyuz<\/a><\/span>, space stations Salyut<\/a><\/span> and Mir<\/a><\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Feoktistov’s visit in Yerevan in 1969 and decisions drawn with Prof Gurzadyan were crucial for the project of space observatories ORION<\/a><\/span> and training of cosmonauts in Armenia.<\/span><\/p>\n

Training with the participation of our employees was also conducted in Star City<\/a><\/span>, at RSC Energia<\/span><\/a> and at the Baikonur<\/a><\/span> testing ground.<\/span><\/p>\n

During the flights, GIKA employees coordinated the work of cosmonauts from the Flight Control Center (Moscow)<\/a> <\/span>and the Center for Deep Space Communications<\/a><\/span> (Evpatoria, Crimea).<\/span><\/p>\n
